YOUTH MINISTRY
We provide youth the opportunity to serve others. They
participate in both the seniors and homeless ministry (more
about these ministries, below). Sometimes they get a stiff
dose of reality from these works, but in the process, they learn
the principle that "It is more blessed to give than to
receive" (Acts
20:35) [point to reference for
Bible text].
Many feel compelled to entertain today's
youth. However, young people want to impact their world.
It's "awesome" being a part of Christ's work in changing the
eternal destiny of others!
In Sunday school,
the kids get real Bible. High School youth study the people of the
Bible, analyzing their character, strengths and flaws, and making
application in their own lives. Learning from these men
and women of renown--so they can follow their good examples and
avoid their mistakes!
Grade school kids are getting a "Firm
Foundation" going through the entire Scriptures, answering
questions like "Who is God?" and "What is He like?",
and "How can I know Him personally."
SENIORS MINISTRY
The purpose of this ministry is to bring
love, friendship, and the good news to those who are shut in.
On the fourth Sunday of each month, we visit a
local convalescent hospital. We have a time of singing,
ministry from God's word, and personal conversation and prayer.
The children help out in this
ministry by singing, and spending individual time with the
elderly folks.
HOMELESS MINISTRY
In this ministry, we help serve the homeless
and poor a meal for their physical health. We also bring
to them the good news of Jesus Christ, who is the "Bread of
Life" (John
6:35).
For over 65 years, we have ministered at the
Open Door Mission in Oakland, California. We lend this
good work a hand on the third Sunday of each month.
